Rescue Watch

This challenge aims to design a wearable device to alert escorts or relatives of patients with diseases that require constant supervision, such as epilepsy, diabetes, low blood pressure and such of sudden attacks when they happen, so that they could get the required medical attention as soon as possible.

Many patients and especially children and elderly people suffer from diseases that require constant supervision, such as epilepsy, diabetes, low blood pressure and such. They face the risk of having an attack alone or while their escort is preoccupied, where they’ll need immediate medical attention from an expert or someone who was trained on what to do, in this case they won’t be able to ask for help and it could affect their health badly and cause their case to worsen or worse they could die.

Designing a small wearable device to alert the escorts and/or the emergency number of the attack with the following specifications:

• Should be small in size
• It should cost 450 EGP maximum and the cheaper the better!
• Can be used to determine the sugar percentage in the blood, to measure heart rate and to measure blood pressure (if possible)
• Voice alert like a whistle sound to alert those around the patient as well as visual like a flashing light
• The device should send a notification to the patient’s emergency contacts, family members, escorts and such, as well as contact emergency services if possible
• Should have GPS so that it can be used to pin point where the patient is located

The winner will receive an 8000 EGP financial award.
