Internship Program at Yomken.com

Yomken is a crowdfunding and open-innovation platform owned by Istebdaa’, Co. – a Cairo-based social startup. We bring up innovative products by bridging the gap between (i) the technical challenges faced by micro- and small entrepreneurs (MSE) working mainly in light manufacturing industries and (ii) the innovative solutions and ideas of potential problem solvers (e.g. students, scientists, entrepreneurs…). Additionally, Yomken funds and commercializes innovations and prototypes through crowdfunding.

We are looking for two motivated individuals to join our team for the Yomken Internship Program.

                                                     A.   Innovation Development Intern

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Innovation & Funding Manager, the intern will be:

• Organizing Events, Trainings, and info sessions for start-ups, innovators, students and entrepreneurs.
• Training and managing volunteers; to take part in Yomken’s volunteer tour to discover and unveil social innovation and challenges.

We look for someone with…

• Student or Graduate of Business, Engineering, Economics or any other related field;
• Excellent computer skills, written and spoken English;
• Familiar with well-known social media tools;
• Self-motivated person and passionate about innovation and development fields.

B.   Online Marketing Intern

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Content & Marketing Officer, the intern will be:

• Supporting in managing the social media of Yomken and the online campaigns;
• Following news related to Yomken and creating content for social media channels;
• Writing blogs related to innovation and crowdfunding industry on Yomken’s blog;
• Creating designs for social media networks and advertising printings.

We look for someone with…

• • Student or Graduate of Business, Journalism, Economics or any other related field;
  • Excellent computer skills, written and spoken English;
  • Good design and artistic skills using photo manipulation programs, and/or video editing programs;
  • Familiar with well-known social media tools;

Expected Time commitment:
